The contrast of sobriety.
The surroundings in which this house is developed are captivating: surrounded by mountains, great presence of green and distant views to the sea.
The program desired by the customers was very clear: a basement for garage and storage, first floor for the main development of the house and only and as a highlight, the main room on the second floor.
Exploring about the aesthetic conditions in which the clients wanted to move, we realized that the image of the house should be rather sober and that this would help to contrast with the environment. Thus, a white, glazed piece emerges, which on the first floor has an “L” shape, (thus opening the perspective to the sea views), while on the second floor it appears as a round, cubic volume, in opposition to the steep and uneven shape of the mountains that can be seen in the surroundings.
On the entrance façade, it shows up as a break in the corner in a double height body with which it is intended to emphasize the importance of access.
